Serra Retreat
Located in Central Malibu, Serra Retreat is within walking distance or a short drive to the bulk of the Malibu shops, restaurants, cafes, and markets. A gated community, Serra Retreat is set in its own valley near Malibu Canyon, the neighborhood earns its name from the Franciscan Friars retreat and conference center which overlooks the neighborhood and central Malibu. Serra Retreat was the home to one of Malibu's original residents the Ridge family. Frederick Rindge built a ranch home at the foot of Serra Hill and from the Ranch, Frederick Rindge managed his far-flung Malibu ranch.
Set in a tropical setting Serra offers a rural experience with country roads and a bridge over a seasonal stream. The homes range from modest-sized Ranch Style residences to larger Spanish or Modern Estates on several acres. Ocean views and sizable backyards are commonplace.
